In all cue sports the most important objective is to hit the ball with control. Correct timing of your cue action is critical for ball control and will be a big part of our practice routines.

Practice Routine #1 Place the cue ball and an object ball about 50cm apart, in-line for a straght pot in either corner pocket. ![]() Training Techniques - Practice Routine #1 First objective is to pot the object ball, stopping the cue ball on impact, using back-spin. Re-play the shot with decreasing power until you find the MINIMUM amount of force to pot the object ball. Increase the distance by increments of 20cm (Move the object ball 20cm further from the pocket and the cue ball a further 40cm, keeping the object ball equally spaced between the cue ball and the pocket.)
